ABOUT ME
Hello, my name is Sarah and I am a licensed clinical social worker. One of the things I'm truly passionate about is being in connection with others, being in community and connecting with other people's humanity. I love being in the role of supervisor for associates working towards their licensure and equally love supporting individuals (clients) navigate through their most vulnerable experiences, while creating a safe and non-judgmental therapeutic environment.
I have had the privilege of being a member of and working with the LGBT2QIA+ community. I am a parent of two kids (middle school and high school), have spent time in my life as a hospice social worker and supported elders as they navigate long term care and end of life.
I have over 15 years of experience treating clients with depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, gender identity, sexuality, grief, death and dying, aging and holding space for the stressors and fears around the current political climate.
I want to also share that I am a native Portlander, growing up in NE. I did AmeriCorps*NCCC in Sounth Carolina and traveled around the south for 9 months doing service projects for multiple communities. I received my undergraduate degree form Humboldt State University in Arcata, CA (now I believe it is polytechnic school) and my masters degree form Portland State University. I have two dogs that are adorable and make me smile every day (outside of my two children who also, make me smile everyday).
My goal is to create a safe space for you that is free of judgement where you can feel heard and supported. No matter how hard things may be, there is hope and I would be honored to walk with you on your journey.
